For a girl who has traveled the world, I sure do love to return to Nosara again and again, about 10 times or so by now. My latest passion of the past three years is having the honor to be the guide of the Nosara Goddess Retreat, leading a group of women to this special destination to share the joy of this special Costa Rican town. If you feel the itch for an amazing adventure, join us next time! We will be headed there Feb. 3-10, 2018. Details can be found here.
The mountains meet the sea creating an enticing, provocative energy that is fresh with clean air, windswept trees and spirited howler monkeys. Almost as soon I step off the plane, I relax into the chill vibe as the local ticos and ticas welcome you as if you are stepping into their own personal living room. Not to mention, the Costa Rican children are adorable.
Daily rituals I love to adopt as the locals do include morning pipa fria's (coconut water), the practice of yoga (both on and off the mat), a dip into the pristine, cleansing ocean, greeting each other with friendly smiles and the holy ritual of watching the sunset in all its glory.
While it's a central american town with a rustic third world vibe, there is plenty of sophistication to be had, which is part of the charm. Some of our favorite inventive local chefs offer farm-fresh organic quisine include Jasmine's Kitchen, La Casa and Tibidabo, to name just a few. While the gravel roads may be rustic, the food certainly is not. And if you are an animal lover, there are monkeys, iguanas, colorful birds and happy free roaming dogs EVERYWHERE!!
The heartbeat of the town is Harmony Hotel, which has an amazing juice bar, holistic healing center, spa and full service restaurant. It's a favorite "hang" spot.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention fabulous designer, Gonca Gul and her boutique Bazaar. It's the one dress shop where I shop the very most even though I'm only there once a year. If you are looking to nail the beautiful, bohemian goddess princess look then this is your place.
Where the real magic takes place, however, is the fun group of girls that always comes together. We are bonded by sharing a beautiful space together in a gorgeous house nestled in a phenomenal setting, by adopting a daily ritual of yoga, going on a few choice excursions together and the simple things in life like an evening glass of wine, walk on the beach or dancing to some live music. It's a joy for me (and an honor) to host an amazing group of girls who see Nosara as I once did many years ago, through fresh eyes for the first time.
While we are in a magical, pristine and serene setting, the house, Zona Azul is pretty fun to hang out in! Lounging by the pool, coming together for meals, chillin' in the hammocks or getting a fantastic massage on the secluded open aired top floor were some of our treasured moments.
I look forward to seeing the amazing group of girls that comes together for the Feb 2018 trip. Until next time.....
Pura Vida,
Lee Ann
